Playing Tourist on a Dreary Saturday in Boston

Written by Lesley Burr | 10/18/17 10:46 PM

Saturday afternoon was perfectly dreary. Spent the day with my boyfriend, his sister and her family doing some tourist-y things around Boston. It was her kids' first time in the area, so we met them on the Freedom trail, grabbed a quick and hectic lunch at Fanueil Hall, and rebelled against the British at the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum.

I opted for a low-key black tshirt paired with my favorite new grey kick flare jeans (the most flattering pant cut of the moment), a lightweight army-style jacket, and very puddle-proof platform boots. I added a baseball hat so I didn't have to bother with an umbrella, and brought a vintage handbag out of the depths of my closet for the occassion. I recently donated about 20% of my clothing and shoes which has allowed me to rediscover a lot of long-lost favorite items.

On the way to meet up with the boyfriend's family, we came across these huge painted storage containers in Government Center. The koy fish made an irresistable backdrop for some quick pics.
